You don’t have to time travel anymore.

I know that sounds weird, but it’s what you do. Think about it. You’re probably somewhere else even as you read this. Maybe it’s work tomorrow, the impending climate apocalypse or that time you realized the importance of preparation as you improvised a dance routine in the fifth grade talent show. Wherever you are, come back. I’m here to help.

Creative psychotherapy for adults who want to be more present, centered and hopeful.

I know… Lots of words there that probably sound kinda trite and hokey in our modern “make time for self-care” world. But, I mean something more real and less “you just need to manifest it.”

I’m not kidding about the whole time traveling thing. Anxiety, depression, past trauma, grief and major life changes are all different experiences of feeling the profound overwhelm of life and being separated from the present. Thus, leaving you overwhelmed, stuck and alone.

My job is to help relieve that aloneness, find creative ways to explore what’s happening without you getting overwhelmed and, finally, root you more firmly in the present moment. We’ll do that using a blend of talking, creative exploration (music / art / imagery) and mindfulness.

If you’re curious about what working together would look like, set up a free consultation to talk it out. We’ll get to know one another, discuss what you’re hoping to work and talk about how we might approach the process together.

 FAQs

  • I charge a sliding scale fee of $175-225. I ask clients to select a fee that works for them. This fee can be reassessed if life circumstances change.

  • First, we meet for an initial consultation. If it feels like we’re a good match, we’ll start meeting weekly either in-person or virtually. Ideally, this will happen at the same time to create a regular space that you can depend on. For a lot of people that knowledge alone can be deeply comforting.

Life happens so we’ll likely have to reschedule at some point. I’m happy to do this with 24 hours notice. Otherwise, you’ll be responsible for the full fee.

  • There’s no way to say definitively. Some clients see me for a few months and feel relieved and ready to move on. Some clients see it as an open-ended process that they will engage in as long as they feel like they’re benefiting and growing. We can talk more about expectations when we meet because I’ll have a better idea of your issues, history and goals.

  • I’m not in-network with any insurance companies. However, most of my clients get reimbursed through their out of network coverage (even if they don’t have out of network benefits… looking at you Aetna folks). I’m happy to help you navigate this process.

There’s a variety of reasons why I’m not in-network with any insurance carriers ranging from the restrictions they put on treatment approach, frequency and length to the fact that they do not let me set my own fees, which means I cannot accommodate marginalized clients who can’t afford a full fee. I’m also happy to talk more about this if you’re surprised, angry or curious.
