Tapping into your innate drive to grow and flourish using a blend of talk, music and mindfulness.

My approach

None of us were built for this world. It’s constant and overwhelming in a way that breaks us. It’s also incredibly lonely, despite having endless options for instant connection available at all times. The worst part is that our minds get stuck in these endless loops that make it hard to think of anything else. I promise that it’s not just you that feels this way.

Therapy is a space apart from all that.

It’s a place to connect with another human being, aka me, whose sole aim is to help you explore your inner world, figure out ways to let go of past, present and future ghosts and be more present with what is good and possible for your life.

That process can involve talking, listening to music, meditative breathing, making art, writing and recording original music or using our minds to time travel to past memories to change them for the better.

It all might feel weird, but you won’t be doing it alone.

Things I believe.

  • Connecting with your innate creativity is healing.

Every human being, including you, has creativity as their birthright. But, that spark is often limited to navigating the mundanity of your day-to-day. Turning it inward is your greatest resource in exploring who you are and where you want to go.

  • Therapy isn't just about what's broken.

There’s a common misconception that therapy is primarily about finding what’s broken and fixing it. That might be part of it, but without diving deeply into what is working and good about you, we have no foundation to build on. A big part of the work is basking in what is best about you.

  • You are not a diagnosis.

Generalized anxiety disorder, major depression, ADHD and PTSD are all clinical shorthand for rich and complex human experiences. These “disorders” mostly only serve insurance companies and research studies. Your uniqueness is what matters, not whether or not your symptoms perfectly match a description in the DSM V or ICD-10.

  • Therapy is a mutual relationship.

Therapy is a journey and every good journey needs a guide. A good guide is trustworthy, strong, present and in-tune with your needs. That means fully being in it with you, rather than sitting back and listening or simply telling you what to do. Sometimes that means breaking the fourth wall and just being two people together sharing joy, sadness or pain.

Who do I work with?

I work with adults and adolescents older than 14. I don’t discriminate based on diagnosis or needs. It’s all about whether we’re a good fit or not, which we’ll figure out together.

How often will we meet?

We’ll start with weekly meetings for 50-60 minutes. Most clients stick with that, but sometimes it makes sense to meet more or less frequently. We can figure out together.

What happens in a session?

Every session and client are different. Some sessions will just be talk and others will be purely musical or imaginal. We’ll work together to find the right flow for you.

For how long will we meet?

There’s no good answer for this, because it depends on your reasons for therapy. Some clients come for a few months and some see it as an open-ended longer term process.

How much does this cost?

My fee range is $200-250 per session. I trust my clients to pick a fee that works for them. I have a limited number of lower fee spots for economically or culturally marginalized clients.

Does insurance cover this?

I’m not in-network with any insurances and happy to talk to you about why. Most of my clients get reimbursed by their insurance. I’m happy to help you navigate that process.
